Wednesday 27 Aug 2014Ibane Minor Hurling - Championship

Ballinascarthy, 19:00PM

Ibane Gaels 1-14 Ahan Gaels 1-10

Ibane won their 2nd game in the minor A round robin Hurling Championship and have qualified for the final where they will meet the winners of Sam Maguires and Ahan Gaels.  Ibane had the advantage of playing towards the roadside goal in Ballinascarthy in the 1st half and dominated play and were full value for their half time lead of 1-10 to 0-03 the goal coming from Robert Byrnes. As expected Ahan came into the game in the 2nd half and  helped by the concession of a soft goal were only 4 points in arrears 1-12 to 1-08 with 10 minutes to go and the game was there to be won by either side however neither team could take control and the last 4 points were shared to finish 1-14 to 1-10, a win for Ibane who will be happy with their 1st half display but cannot say the same of the 2nd half. It means there is plenty to work on before the final.
