Barryroe GAA

Was a great tough game. Sars were physical and fit and put it up to the Barryroe girls from the start (they have recently won the intermediate county final vs Brian Dillons and are playing Munster final nov 8th so have momentum with them).
Sars started the brighter with an early point. Then the Barryroe full forward line took off with a point from Denise and then 2 great goals from Claire Sexton , followed by point from Claire Tyndall . Their speed and direct play running theSars full back line ragged.
Then Sile Burnsfound the net with  a long range effort  that deceived the goalie . And and almost immediately the same player pounced  on  a spilled ball and finished to net after good work by Denise and Carmel .

Half time score 1.7 to 5.5

Second half - Sars started well again with 2 early points but the backs started getting on top . Karen McCarthy played a blinder from centre back organising the line ... Kate Dullea was dogged in defence.... Lisa Dullea showed great speed and made some great last ditch tackles . Eimear White started in full back and did a fine job.
Geraldine Collins and Hannah Whelton did great work in midfield and kept the supply of ball into the full forward line.

The defence stayed on top and as the Sars defence tired, they started giving away frees and Barryroe were able to keep the scoreline ticking over , and denise got 2 more fine points.

We will be playing the winners of Courceys and Ballygarvan in the final (will probably be next weekend before the senior county final in Castle Road ... Not definite yet!)
