Ibane Gaels 2-12 Naomh Abhan 0-08

Ibane had a good win in the Semi-Final of the Minor B West  Football Championship played in Newcestown. Ibane had the advantage of the wind in the 1st half and started well with Bill Fleming and Jack Cahalane getting points which were cancelled out by Naomh Abhan to leave the sides level at 0-02 each after 10 minutes.  Ibane then got the boost of a goal when Bill Fleming was on hand to finish a high ball to the net, points were then exchanged before Liam Colberth was the man on hand to finish another Ibane move, volleying the ball to the net to give Ibane a 2 goal lead, Ibane were well on top but numerous chances were missed to put the game beyond Naomh Abhan's reach, their dominance told however and further points followed to give Ibane a half time lead 2-07 to 0-04.

Ibane started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st and points from Jack Cahalane stretched the lead out to 12 points after that it was a matter of keeping things tight at the back and the Ibane defence in front of Micheal Whelton worked very hard and gave the opposition very few scoring chances which allowed Ibane to run out winners 2-12 to 0-08. Ibane are now in the final where they will play the winners of Ross/Dohenys which is sure to be a much tougher game as these lads are training /playing with their Senior Footballers.
