Ibane travelled to the picturesque setting of the castle grounds Macroom to play the locals in the Minor Football league. In a game between two evenly matched teams goals were the difference and it was the mid Cork men who grabbed 2 of them to win 2-11 to 0-12. Ibane had trailed at half time by 1-05 to 0-06 despite having played most of the football, The second half had Macroom stretch their lead to 5 points before Ibane hit back with a few points to narrow the gap back to 2, however Macroom struck for their 2nd goal to seal the game and collect the 2 points.
