Ibane Gaels 1-07 Owen Gaels 0-13

Ibane were knocked out of the Minor Football Championship by Owen Gaels in Kilbrittain on Monday night last. This was another disappointing defeat for this group of lads as yet again they had the majority of the possession but failed to put it on the scoreboard. Owen Gaels were dominant in the central positions with a centre and full forward causing Ibane  a lot of problems. Owen Gaels led early on but a Matthew Lawton Goal put Ibane ahead 1-01 to 0-02 and they should have extended their lead however good chances went abegging. Owen Gaels were much more direct in their attacking and made better use of possession to lead at half time 0-08 to 1-04.

The 2nd half continued in much the same vein with Ibane slow and laborious in their build up play with the majority of the attacks coming to nothing, Owen Gaels on the other hand kept the scoreboard ticking over and at the final whistle had come out on top 0-13 to 1-07.

Ibane's championship year is over and we would like to thank the lads for their effort all year and the backroom Team of Edward, Danny, Jason , Dah and Donal.
