The late great Houdini conjured up some marvellous escapades in his time, but even he would have been put to the pin of his collar to better the show put on by the Barryroe / Timoleague combination in this thrilling West Cork U16 'A' Hurling championship semi final played before a boisterous crowd on a superbly manicured Clonakilty sod on Wednesday evening.
Twice Ibane Gaels looked in serious trouble, firstly in normal time with the clock ticking into the red and two points down, Ryan and Con came to the rescue with late scores to take the game to extra time. Again, in the second period of extra time with Bandon dominating and two points in front, Adam after some outstanding approach play from full back Ducat and lively substitute Walsh struck for the game's crucial score to break Bandon hearts.
Ibane Gaels now march into the final where they will meet either Kinsale or Courcey Rovers provisionally fixed for the 28th August.
