Fresh from their semi final win over Ballincollig, Ibane Gaels played Douglas in Timoleague last Friday evening in the final of the non-exam football league. After a good opening 15 minutes with both sides exchanging points, a great sweeping move by Ibane saw Seán Walsh sidestep the Douglas keeper to put the ball in the net. Tempers ran high on a few occasions and Ibane came out worst losing Seán Henchion and Micheal Walsh through injury. Ibane went in at half time leading 1-07 to 0-07. The city team started well in the second half and were back on level terms after a few minutes. With one minute to go, Douglas led by two points and up popped Micheal Ryan to score a goal.
