Great Wild Atlantic Marathon Walk

27 July, 2017

Its all systems go for the Marathon, Half Marathon or 10K/5K walking challenges over the stunning scenic roads from Courtmacsherry Bay to South Ring that is being held on Sat 12th Aug. This is a joint initiative by Barryroe GAA and Courtmacsherry RNLI Lifeboat in the countrywide Respect the Water campaign with the funds raised going to the Courtmacsherry Lifeboat. See hereunder brochure for all details. The roads travelled will give you a real taste of how really beautiful the Parish of Barryroe is and showcase the real Wild Atlantic Coastline at its very best.

We are also looking for volunteers to help act as stewards on the day and also Nurses/First Aiders that will help with the First Aid stops that will be located in Broadstrand, Butlerstown, Moloneys Strand, Ballinglanna, South Ring, Barreragh and Courtmacsherry. Anyone with a few hours to spare on the day for stewarding, can you contact  the committee at 087 0971758 or Vincent O Donovan at 086 2530637.  For those Nurses/First Aiders that can help us, please contact Ann O Donovan at 087 8509898. All help is much appreciated. Lets get our walking shoes ready. It would be great to have a big turnout at the Official start in Courtmacsherry at 9.30am.
