Barryroe 5-10 Naomh Abán 2-09

On Sunday last in Newcestown, Barryroe Under 12 footballers defeated Naomh Abán to win the Rebel Og West Under 12B football cup. On their respective paths to the final Barryroe defeated Ahan Gaels & Caheragh whilst Naomh Abán defeated Clonakilty & Adrigole.

Naomh Abán started strongly and led by seven points after twenty minutes. A goal from Ronan Coakley reduced the deficit and left four points between the teams at half time. Barryroe upped their performance at the start of the second half with three quick points. Goals at either end raised the excitement levels among both sets of supporters; the Barryroe lads gained control and finished strongly with three goals from Olan O’ Donovan to run out worthy winners on a score line of 5-10 to 2-09.
