43rd Annual Christmas Day Swim

It's that time of year again and the 43rd Annual Christmas Day Swim takes place in Broadstrand at 12 noon. Started by a group of five brave swimmers back in 1975, this year’s swim once again is in aid of COPE and the Cystic Fibrosis Childrens Ward in CUH.
For some it may be their only swim of the year and for more, they may not even get very wet, but it’s a great occasion on Christmas Morning to get out in the fresh air of Broadstrand and sample the beauty of the real Wild Atlantic Way. Once again this year we will remember one of the great supporters over the four decades, Sean Connolly of Cregane and his memory and special LifeBuoy will lead the participants to the water. Hot soup and something even stronger will be provided by the special Christmas Day caterers led by Joan O'Donovan, Micheal Hurley and Gerald O'Donovan.
