Report on Ibane Gaels AGM 2018

The Ibane Gaels AGM took place on Tuesday night the 16th January in Courtmacsherry Community Centre. Chairman, Peter Fleming, welcomed all present and thanked them for their attendance.

The minutes of the 2017 AGM were taken as read and this was followed by the Secretary’s report for the 2017 season.

Secretary Liam Murphy was complimented by the Chairman on presenting such a detailed report which was then passed by the meeting. This was followed by the treasurer’s report which was professionally presented by Ibane Gaels treasurer, Angela O'Donovan, which outlined the financial situation of the club for the year ending 2017. The report was then accepted by those present.

The chairman then said a few words and thanked his fellow officers and team mentors / coaches for all their trojan work during the year. Special mention was made of the U15 & U16 teams on winning hurling and football county titles. A detailed review of all teams was undertaken for the forthcoming season where management personal was confirmed / proposed and gradings were discussed.

The election of officers was next on the agenda. Chairman Peter Fleming and Secretary Liam Murphy after many years of sterling service decided to take a step back and encouraged new blood at the top table. After a healthy discussion on the night, post meeting the officers for the 2018 have been confirmed as follows:

  • Chairman: Richard Flynn
  • Secretary: Paul Hurley
  • Treasurer: Angela O'Donovan
  • Vice Chairman: John Holland

The AGM concluded with outgoing chairman Peter Fleming thanking everyone for their attendance and wished the club every success in 2018.

Barryroe GAA would like to wish all players and officers all the best for the 2018 season. A special word of thanks for the great work undertaken by Liam and Peter in steering the ship the past few years.
