U10s East Carbery Regional Football

05 December, 2018

Over the past number of weeks our U10 lads have been taking part in football training once a week organised by the West Cork divisional development coaching officers. This was open to everyone who was born in 2008. The training sessions culminated in a blitz in Parc Ui Chaoimh last Saturday where they were also given a tour of the stadium by James McCarthy. He emphasised the importance of being able to kick off left and right feet and the best way to develop these skills was to practice at home each day. He also outlined that the most important team that they would play with in their careers was their HOME club and that the ultimate goal was to represent their club at adult level playing in a county final in Parc Ui Chaoimh. He reminded coaches and more importantly parents to take a more active roll in encouraging their children to practice at home and continue to play our national games.

Many thanks to James McCarthy and Paudie Crowley who organised the training sessions and visit to Parc Ui Chaoimh which the lads thoroughly enjoyed.

Thanks to Padraig Collins for report and pics.
