2018 Benchmarking Awards Presentation

04 February, 2019

Well done to all the coaches, parents and players whose efforts have resulted in Barryroe GAA Club maintaining their Silver Status in 2018.

On Sunday 3rd Feb 2019 the The Benchmarking Awards were presented to the clubs who were successful in their Benchmarking in 2018. This year we had an increase in the number of clubs taking part.

Cork Chairperson Tracey welcomed all the club representatives and Coaching Officer to Pairc Ui Rinn were the presentations were made. She was delighted to see so much work going on in clubs in Cork and it was great to see that work being recognised by everyone. She went on to say that the work Volunteers do within clubs is paramount for the future of the GAA and that without the effort put in by clubs we would not be where we are now. She thanked everyone for attending and the GDA’s who run the scheme on the ground with Kevin O’Callaghan as games manager heading up the team involved.

Next Kevin O’Callaghan as Games Manager thanked Tracey, the County Board and Rebel Og for all their support in the Benchmarking process each year. Since its inception we have seen an increase in numbers of clubs achieving higher standards than the previous year and that the overall aim is for all clubs to receive Benchmarking status by 2020, This year we had 35 Gold clubs, 49 Silver Clubs & 33 Bronze Clubs, in all a total of 117 clubs receiving Benchmarking Status for 2018.

Once the speeches were finished club Coaching Officer received their Certificates from Ronan Dwane Coaching Officer with the Cork County Board and all were able to enjoy some refreshments in Pairc Ui Rinn before heading to Pairc Ui Chaoimh for the double header today.

Well done to all clubs who were successful.
