Return to Play

Dear Members,

We would like to take the opportunity to wish all our members good health and well-being during these exceptional times. As a Club, our members have shown real leadership within our community, through the involvement with support groups and a number of fundraising activities during this challenging period.

We would also like to in particular congratulate all the mentors for their tireless work in keeping their teams active and engaged with the Club through online sessions, team challenges over the last number of months. In addition we would also like to thank all the members of committees who have been very active working in the background virtually supporting the Club on day to day business and the tireless efforts of Patrick Barry, Tim Carroll, Norman Fleming and co in the essential maintenance of our grounds. We would also like to thank the many volunteers who gave of their time so freely last weekend to carry out some essential works.

As we commence on our Return to Play process in alignment with the GAA and Cork County Board guidance and protocols there will be a number of changes to how we as a club work, there will be a number of new policies which we will need to adhere to and indeed there will be a number of limitations which will remain in place during the pathway to full return.

The club officers and committees are working very closely to ensure that we have a safe environment for all members and players to return to, and player and member safety is our primary focus.

The impact of Covid 19 has like some many clubs and businesses around the country had an impact on our Club and now it is more important for every member to support our Club as we progress through this period. We would encourage every member, player and parent to consider what else you can do to support our club, as we understand the full impact of Covid 19 period on the day to day finances of the club. This can be as small as supporting our weekly club lotto €5 a week [link to our lotto]. Barryroe GAA Club will also need additional support if we are to provide the high level of support to our players and teams over the upcoming season.

Finally we look forward to welcoming all our members and players back to training over the coming weeks and we would ask you all for your patience and support over this period as we get back to our new normal.

Yours in Sport,

Barryroe Executive Committee

Covid-19 Return to play Educational Webinars

There will be a number of educational webinars available in the next few weeks from the GAA explicitly detailing how to safely return to play. We would ask that ALL persons (managers, committee members, parents etc) view these videos and familiarise themselves with the new guidelines and procedures that we will be adhering to.

Webinar outlining Return to Play Guidelines can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shgo-TWDiHo

The compulsory e-learning module that should be completed by everyone can be viewed here: https://courses.gaa.ie/Covid19ClubEd/#/. All certificates (either a screenshot or a pdf document) to be emailed to [email protected]

There is a learning section of the GAA website with useful resources and information here: https://learning.gaa.ie/covid19

Barryroe GAA Cúl Camp 2020

After much deliberation and review of Covid 19 return to play guidelines, the club has very reluctantly taken the decision NOT to hold our annual Cúl Camp this year.
