Grounds Development Progress

01 October, 2020

Nagle Sports Turf recently commenced the drainage works on the main pitch at Páirc Uí Mhurchú and works are progressing at pace. Using a rubber duck track mini digger they have excavated a perimeter drain to a depth of 650mm and to a width of 300mm. They then place a 50mm stone bedding at the bottom of trench, this is put in place to facilitate any possible silt build up in the pipe. 150mm land drainage pipe is then inserted into the trench and then backfilling is undertaken with a Shelton stoning cart which fills to the surface with 20mm round washed stone.

They will now progress to installing over 2km of "carrier drains" followed by over 12km of a "gravel band drains".
