Barryroe CĂșl Camp 2021

12 August, 2021

Barryroe GAA would like to thank all those who helped in any way to make Cúl Camp 2021 such an enjoyable week for the 165 boys and girls who took part. We especially thank the superb external coaches and the club coaches who so generously gave of their time, the young club players who assisted the coaches with the various groups, the traffic and first aid supervisors who helped ensure the safety of all during a busy week, the fantastic catering crew for hosting such a fabulous BBQ on the last day, Micheal Hurley for the use of his BBQ equipment, Barryroe Co-op and Clara and Dan Moloney who generously donated food for the BBQ, Kenneth Santry (groundsman) for having the grounds in pristine condition, the officers of Barryroe GAA and Camogie clubs for their assistance, the RNLI for visiting on Wednesday and the man above for ensuring we had reasonably good weather for the week. Finally, thank you to all the boys and girls for taking part and for your excellent behaviour throughout the week - we hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Thanks to Cúl Camp coordinator Padraig Collins for organising a superb event and who put in trojan work during the week.

Unfortunately due to Covid restrictions we didn’t get any county stars visiting the cúl camp but the Barryroe Camogie Club U14 camogie superstars came to show the county cup they won the previous month. The boys and girls were told that these camogie players had attended cúl camps during their national school years and maybe some of the boys and girls attending this years cúl camp would be back in years to come doing similar.

See you all in 2022!
