Ibane AGM Report

10 February, 2022

The Ibane Gaels AGM took place on Thursday evening the 3rd February in Courtmacsherry Community Centre. Chairperson, Eoin McCarthy, welcomed all present and thanked them for their attendance.

The efforts of all players, mentors & parents to ensure a successful and enjoyable 2021 season was recognised.

This was followed by the Secretary’s report for 2021. Due to Covid restrictions, the GAA training & playing season did not commence until late April. Supported with input from mentors at each of the age groups, the report detailed a very busy and enjoyable season for all age groups. All teams had 30+ training sessions throughout the season, with lots of games in both hurling and football.

The treasurer report was then presented, outlining the financial status of the team. All players & members are reminded that membership of their respective clubs, Argideen Rangers & Barryroe for the season 2022 is now due. Supporters are also encouraged to support their respective club lotto’s.

Next on the agenda was the list of mentors for the 2022 season. Whilst mentors are in place for all teams, more hands make light work. If anyone is interested in being involved in any capacity, please reach out to any of the club officers or mentors.

One of the final acts of the night was the election of officers whereby the outgoing secretary & treasurer were returned uncontested. The chairperson position will be filled by Argideen Rangers for the 2022 season as per the Ibane Gaels management structure.

In concluding proceedings, the Chairperson thanked everyone for their attendance and wished the club every success in 2022

In closing the meeting, the Chairperson requested a minutes silence to remember all those bereaved throughout the pandemic.
