Parish Leagues....

Parish Leagues
As the the Season moves into Autumn,  it is important as the games become less frequent that Parish Leagues are organized for the various age groups for the months of September and October with finals perhaps on the Bank Holiday Monday in October or later if there are some delays due to matches.

John Joe has indicated that there will be 2 sets of goals on the top pitch enabling the creation of two separate pitches for the younger players, whilst on the bottom pitch, the bigger players could use 1 big goal & 1 small goal thereby creating two further pitches.

With Cork in the All-Ireland Hurling Final, starting the leagues on the either the 7th or 14th of September would be a good idea. Consideration could also be given as to including Camogie players up to 9/10 to increase numbers, with teams of 6/7 aside of indeed less to improve players by getting more touches of the ball.  Depending on numbers, a possible breakdown of groupings might be :
U-14
U-11 (next year's U-12)
U-8/9 (Number dependent)
U-6/7

These ages are just a suggestion to mentors.

Whilst the league matches are being played, there will be players waiting to play and this time would provide an opportunity to work on their long distance striking/kicking.
