"Former Great" at Kanturk match.

I had a pleasant surprise as I shivered while watching the Kanturk match on Sunday. A car pulled up and after a few minutes a familiar looking face came over. hand outstretched. Just as he reached me, I realised it was Timmy Hurley, Cuckoo Hill. Timmy played in my time, (although he would be a lot younger), and he was a big loss to Barryroe as he was a fine hurler, just coming into his best years.
It was a little scary to be reminded that he left the Parish some 26 years ago. About that time we also lost Noelie Brien, to emigration as well.
Timmy is home on holidays with wife Liz and family and Timmy was showing them what hurling was like.
The family are living in Boston.
