Tomás Mulcahy in Courtmac.

06 May, 2014

The medals will be presented by Tomás Mulcahy, former Glen Rovers and Cork hurler.  Tomás made his first appearance for the team during the 1983 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1994 championship. During that time he won three All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals, One National Hurling League medal and two All-Star awards.

At club level Tomas has a county club championship medal with Glen Rovers.

In retirement Tomas became involved in team management. He has served as manager of the Glen Rovers and Lismore senior hurling teams. He has also worked as a pundit with The Sunday Game with people like, Ger Loughnane and Eddie Brennan.

Early days.

Nowadays.

It is hoped to use the occasion to launch the Ibane Gaels fundraiser, based on the timing of the first goal in the upcoming Barryroe/Timoleague Championship game. More details on the night. All are welcome. The event kicks off at 9 p.m. in the Courtmacsherry Hotel.

Strange but true, the current Barryroe P.R.O. used to be Tomás Mulcahy's postman.
