Latest Under 8 report and pictures.
01 July, 2015
Paul Hayes writes,
Barryroe Under 8 hurlers headed west to Kilmeen last Saturday to take part in the latest blitz of the season. Conditions were
perfect for hurling, not too warm, not much wind and the grass on the pitch had been cut the day before! With numbers still
unaffected by families going on holidays, we were able to enter two strong teams to take part. Barryroe 1 played Clon,
St. Colums and Newcestown, while Barryroe 2 played O'Donovan Rossas of Skibbereen, St James' of Ardfield and
Newcestown 2. While some games were tighter than others, Barryroe made a clean sweep of all 6 games! Coaches on the day,
TJ and Paul were very pleased to see aspects of previous training sessions implemented during the games, such as hitting both
right and left hand and some great blocking of opponents strikes. Indeed, mentors from other teams complimented our young
players on their skill levels. Training will continue on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings as all in blue look to keep up
the winning streak in the next round of matches in a couple of weeks time.
Some Pictures from the day again thanks to Paul.
