2 Sleeps to go/Goal of the season/Ibane girls U

22 September, 2015

All roads lead to Brinny at 2 pm this coming Sunday for the Playoff decider between our Intermediate Hurlers and Aghabullogue. Make no mistake. A victory here would be huge for our club. You only have to look at Dripsey who were in this position two of the last three years. They came out victorious on both occasions and are now about to contest the county final in this grade. There is no doubt the momentum built from those wins followed them through into this year’s successes. Who is to say we cannot build that momentum in future years? With some very bright prospects coming through our underage system, maintaining Intermediate status would be massive for their future development and allow us to rebuild at this grade.

Whilst the players and mentors feel slightly aggrieved to be in this position, commitment has never waned over the past few months, training constantly and playing challenge games to keep sharp. These guys would give their right hand for a win this Sunday so we need you all to get behind them in Brinny, become that 16th player and help shout them on to victory. Get out the sky blue and navy colours and show the lads they have your full support. There’s no trophy at stake but to everyone involved, it’s a county final!!!

Ibane ladies U14 played their first match today in a friendly against Clann na Gaels. The maids of Ibane played like a team that have been playing for years together with some great inter passing between the girls. Scores flowed throughout the team however the cohesion was what impressed the most.   The final score was 7-10 - 0- 2 to Ibane Ladies.

Looking forward to the girls next outing.
