An Puc Fada.

I have been asked to remind you that the Annual Puc fada will take place on Sunday 27th of December at 12 noon.

There is a change in the course this year, as the Kilbrittain Tractor Run will be passing through the New Line.

It will start at Creamery Cross and then head towards Butlerstown.  Should be fun as that road is a lot narrower that the New Line.

Soup and sandwiches afterwards and it's in aid of the R.N.L.I. this year, and speaking of the Lifeboat ,

Vincent O'Donovan tells us,

Update on Fri Dec 18th at 4.30pm
>
> The Courtmacsherry RNLI All Weather Lifeboat under Coxswain Sean O Farrell was called out at 11am this morning to go to the aid of a 46 ft Fishing Vessel that had got into difficulties 14 miles south of The Old Head Of Kinsale in West Cork.  The Lifeboat with a crew of 7 launched immediately and in very poor conditions, with a sea swell of over 12 feet, they located the Casuality in rough seas. Immediately they secured a tow line to the Casuality and proceeding to tow the stricken vessel back to Kinsale Harbour.
> There were four crew on board the fishing vessel. Condition at sea today were poor with heavy swell, high winds and poor visability.
> After more than a four hour tow, both boats have now arrived back to the safe surrounds of Kinsale Harbour arriving at just after 4 pm.

> Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Hon Operations Manager Brian O Dwyer praised the quick response of so many voluntary crew members this morning and commented that " it was great to complete this Callout, in poor conditions and in a very efficient manner, we had a turnout of over 11 voluntary crew willing to go to sea on a morning that many of them were preparing to attend a large local Wedding in the Village. When they return to station in Courtmacsherry at approx 5.30pm, they can be well satisfied of a job well done".

> Crew on today's Callout were Coxswain Sean O Farrell, Mechanic Stewart Russell and crew Chris Guy, Conor Dullea, Ciaran Hurley, Ken Cashman and Dave Philips
