Sunday 16 Mar 2014Ibane U14F 'B' - League

Barryroe, 12:00PM

This was the first outing for Ibane's Under 14 team and we were more hopeful than confident at the start. Kilmichael started well and had two points before Liam Fleming opened the home side's account. Points from Dara Holland,  Brian O'Donovan and Stephan Welch put us in front before the visitors struck for their first goal on twenty minutes. Arran Ducat levelled before Kilmichael took over, adding 1-02 to an Olan McSweeney point to leave Kilmichael ahead by 2-4 to 6 points at the break.

When Kilmichael opened the scoring in the second half with a goal it looked like curtains for the home side, but the visitors were restricted to  just a single point for the rest of the game, as Ibane took over. John Allen-Byrne had a point and when Stephan Welch's shot found the back of the Kilmichael net, there was just a goal between the sides, 1-07 to 3-04.

Dara Holland had a point and when Ibane were awarded a penalty, the same player converted and Ibane were a point to the good. Olan McSweeney stretched the lead to two points, before Kilmichael had their final score of the game, with a point. Two late points for the home side saw them come out on top, on a score of 2-11 to 3-5.
