Tuesday 10 Jun 2014Ibane Minor Football - Non Exam - County Final

Grenagh, 19:30PM

Ibane Gaels 2-10 Grenagh 3-07.

Ibane made the long journey to Grenagh to take on the locals in the non-exam football league and came away with a draw in a game we should have probably won.  Grenagh had been hit by a heavy thunder shower just before the game and  even though the pitch was  playable it made conditions very hard to play on.Grenagh started better and were 1-1 to nil up before Ibane opened their scoring  with a Jack Cahalane point. A Shane Tuschewski goal put Ibane in front but Grenagh hit back with a goal of their own and it was Ibane who finished the half better to lead by 1-05 to 1-03. Grenagh quickly levelled the game and it was nip and tuck for most of the 2nd half with Ibane going up a point or 2 and Grenagh pulling them back aided by a 2nd goal. The teams were level with 5 minutes to go when Grenagh converted a penalty  to lead by 2 points. Ibane went on all out attack and were rewarded when Sean Holland tucked home the rebound from a penalty to put Ibane up by 1 but Grenagh had the last say with a pointed free to draw the game 2-10 to 3-07.

Many thanks to Pat Lawton for  the reffing  the game .
