Barryroe got off to a good start in the Camogie Summer League, when they overcame Clonakilty on Friday night . Claire Sexton, Síle Burns, Denise O'Sullivan and Hannah Whelton had us four points to the good after 15 minutes. Síle then pointed two frees, before Clon got off the mark with two quick points, but a Síle Burns goal and a Denise O'Sullivan point, left us 1-6 to 2 points at the break.
The second half began with Claire Sexton, Síle Burns and Claire again, answering three points for the town side, to leave us 1-9 to 5pts with ten minutes on the clock.
Twenty seven minutes into the second half, a Geraldine Collins goal sealed the game and with time almost up, sub Rachel Mc Carthy finished the scoring with a fine goal, to leave the home side 3-9 to 0-6 at the end.
A good start to the competition, where we will meet Courseys, Timoleague/Kilbrittain and Eire Óg, later on.
