Ibane beat Sam Maguires in this round robin Minor Hurling A Championship game played in Enniskeane. Ibane started well and were rewarded with an early goal from Jack Cahalane, points were added by Jack and Eoin Lawton before Maguires got on the scoreboard . Ibane were on top but were missing chances and it took a goal from Killian Lawton to reflect their superiority . Maguires hit back and it took a great save from Conor Madden to keep them at bay ,again Maguires attacked and Conor saved again injuring himself in the process but took his place in goal to face a 20 metre free which Ibane were unlucky not to save which made the match a 6 point game however 2 late points from Steve Madden +Eoin Lawton left Ibane ahead at half time 2-09 to 1-04.Ibane got the 1st score of the 2nd half through Eoin but Maguires got on top and only some great defending by Conor + all the backs kept the score down but the pressure told and Maguires got their 2nd goal The margin was down to 5 poirts but Ibane responded and 2 late points from David Kiely and Ted Kearney gave them the win 2-13 to 2-07 . It was a good win but Maguires were missing a few and Ibane would be wary not to read too much into it.
