On Friday evening at Ballinascarthy in perfect conditions Ibane Gaels Under 16 footballers defeated Kilbrittain to qualify for the West Region Final. Ibane were quick off the mark and led by a goal and a point after five minutes with the goal coming from Bill Fleming. Kilbrittain worked their way back into the game and led by 1-06 to 1-05 at half time. Ibane upped their performance considerably in the second half and with further goals from Michael Murphy and Bill Fleming ran out worthy winners on s score-line of 3-12 to 1-10. They now progress to meet Pedlars Cross in the final.
