Ibane Gaels 1-14 Kilmacabea 0-12

Ibane U21 footballers had a great win over Kilmacabea in this 1st round B Championship game played in Rosscarbery. This was a very good game of football between 2 evenly matched teams who had ended normal time level at 0-10 each. The crucial score of the game was a Mark Crowley major in the 2nd period of extra time this put Ibane 1-12 to 0-12 ahead and they finished the game in style with points from Ted Kearney and Jack Cahalane, Ibane played against the breeze in the 1st half and led at half time by 0-05 to 0-04 helped in the main by Mark Crowley's frees. The 2nd half was nip and tuck with never more than a point between the teams and when Kilmacabea scored a point with the 60 minutes gone it looked to be their day however Ibane broke up field , won a free and Jack Cahalane  coolly slotted it over to bring us to extra time. Kilmacabea led 0-12 to 0-11 at half time in extra time , Ibane levelled and Crowley's goal was the kick start that allowed Ibane to run out winners 1-14 to 0-12. Ibane now face an equally hard task in the next round when they face up against last years champions and county finalists Ballinascarthy next Sunday in Clonakilty
