Report for U16 Camogie County League game Wednesday 17 June @ 7pm in Barryroe

Result: Barryroe 6-6 St. Colums’s 1-1

 

The Barryroe girls proved to be the stronger side on the day. The opening score was a goal scored by Aideen O’Riordan, This was followed by 2 points in quick succession from Kate Whelton. Next was a lovely point from Chloe Collins, set up by a great pass from Kate Whelton. Kate went onto score another 2 points, one from a 45. Next it was Grace Tobin to notch up a score, a fine goal. Another goal rattled the back of the net, this time by Andrea Tobin. The half back line of Aoife Kearney, Niamh Whelton & Katie McCarthy were dominant and set up lots of chances for our forwards in this half. There was strong performances by the mid fielders Roisin Dullea & Clodagh Moloney who made efficient use of the ball. The score at the break was Barryroe 3-5 to St. Colum’s 0-0.

 

Kate Whelton opened the second half with a goal. Colum’s responded with a point. Aideen again scored a goal which was nicely set-up by Megan Murphy. Colum’s replied with a goal. The last two scores, a point & a goal came from Aideen with some lovely passing from Shanon Chapman & Aoife Kearney to set up the final goal. Therese McCarthy made many saves & Maeve Whelton defended and cleared well throughout the game.
