A large crowd gathered in Barryroe last Friday evening for the clash of the local rivals in the semi-final of the Under 12 hurling league. Both teams served up an entertaining and high quality game of hurling with the ground hurling of the Barryroe boys and the blocking of the Timoleague boys particularly noteworthy. Having trailed 3-02 to 1-00 at half-time, great credit is due to the boys in blue for producing a stirring second half comeback – with Donnacha Coakley, team captain Michael O’Donovan and young substitutes Conrad Murphy and Mike Collins very much to the fore - which saw them just come up short in the end. Best of luck to Timoleague in the final.
