Halloween Blitz

30 October, 2017

Barryroe GAA’s underage season came to an enjoyable conclusion last Saturday with the annual Halloween blitz. Proceedings got under way with a piper led parade with over 100 boys and girls following behind. A great hour’s sport followed with a mixed hurling and football blitz. Having worked up the required appetite, players, supporters and mentors retired to the clubhouse for well-earned and much needed refreshments. Thanks to Margaret and everyone who generously helped with the catering; thanks to all the supporters who joined in the fun; thanks to the groundsmen for their work in preparing the pitches in extremely difficult conditions; thanks to the young refs for bringing law and order to proceedings on Saturday; thanks to all the coaches for their self-less efforts throughout the year and (most especially of all) thanks to all the boys and girls for their tremendous commitment during a long but enjoyable season. Well done all.
