Barryroe CĂșl Camp 2018

11 August, 2018

Barryroe GAA would like to thank all those who helped in any way to make Cúl Camp 2018 such an enjoyable week for the 150+ boys and girls who took part. We especially thank our superb coaching team of Mark Sugrue, Micheal Martin, Aisling Kelleher, David Lowney, Luke Meade and the 13 club coaches who so generously gave of their time, the 23 young club players who assisted the coaches with the various groups, the traffic and first aid supervisors who helped ensure the safety of all during a busy week, Margaret O’Sullivan for all her work, especially along with her fantastic catering crew for hosting such a fabulous BBQ on the last day, Micheal Hurley for the use of his BBQ equipment and Dermot Walsh for transporting it, Barryroe Co-op and Clara and Dan Moloney who generously donated food for the BBQ, Pa Barry (groundsman) for all his help, the officers of Barryroe GAA club for their assistance, Ann Murphy for the loan of the gazebo (which nearly took flight a couple of times!), the RNLI for visiting on Thursday and the man above for ensuring we had appropriate weather for the week. A special word of thanks also to Cork County Board for sending down the Munster Senior Hurling Championship trophy – hopefully we will get our hands on the Liam McCarthy Cup in the not too distant future. We would also like to wish Aisling (All-Ireland Ladies Football Semi-final) and David (All-Ireland U21 Hurling Final) the best of luck in two weeks’ time. Finally, thank you to all the boys and girls for taking part and for your excellent behaviour throughout the week - we hope you enjoyed yourselves.

Thanks to Cúl Camp co-ordinator Danny Murphy for organising a superb event, report and photos.

See you all in 2019!
