U12s Win Final

10 September, 2019

Barryroe 3-07 (16) Argideen Rangers 1-06 (9)

Barryroe took on neighbours Timoleague in an entertaining final of the U12 Div 1 Hurling Cup in Kilbrittain on Monday evening last. Barryroe started well and after an early point for Timoleague they hit the front through a well taken goal by Adam Sexton. Timoleague, with the wind at their backs, gradually came more into the game and again took the lead scoring an unanswered 1-02 midway through the first half. Barryroe finished the half strongly however and helped by a goal from the stick of in-form midfielder Luke Murphy, they led at the short whistle by 2-03 to 1-04.

With the wind now at their backs, Barryroe continued to press home their advantage at the start of the second half and hurling with great skill and determination - and with Dermot Dineen particularly dominant at full-back - they never looked like relinquishing their hard earned lead.

Congratulations to the entire Barryroe panel who can all be satisfied with their performances on the night and with their contributions throughout the hurling season. Credit too must go to a gallant Argideen Rangers team who played their part in an exciting and sporting final and to referee Michael O’Mahony for his handling of the game.
