Tosnú maith leath na hoibre.

Barryroe 4-17               Clonakilty 2-6

Barryroe pulled away to win this Round Robin game comfortably in the end. They had a couple of early wides, before Jennifer O'Leary opened their account with a pointed free on eight minutes. Clon levelled, but on nineteen minutes, a great pass from Geraldine Collins put Jennifer through and the Cork star rattled the net. She pointed frees in the 21st and 26th minute, to one from Clon.
Sheila Burns then got in on the act with a brace of points and Jennifer had two more frees before a Clon goal brought the scores to 1-7 to 1-2 in favour of the seasiders. Sile Burns struck for two more points and a single reply from Clon saw Barryroe lead at the break by
1-9 to 1-3.
Clon had the first point of the second half, but five from Jennifer O'Leary (4Frees) saw us move ten points clear. Clon then had a point, but on the 15 minute mark, Geraldine Collins found the net and the game was over. The same player added a fine point while falling to cancel out a Clon score. A foul on Denise O' Sullivan saw Jennifer add another point on 26 minutes, before Rosemary Dineen stepped into the lime light to add a fine point followed by a goal. Minutes later, a Geraldine Collins shot was not dealt with and the ball found it's way to the net. Clon did get a goal with the last puck of the game, but the match was well gone by then.
All in all a good result for Barryroe, but they will know that tougher tests lie ahead.
