This has to be a first.

01 May, 2014

Ibane Gaels are running  a 1st goal scored competition on the Intermediate Hurling  Championship game between Barryroe and  Argideen Rangers to be held in Clonakilty on June 8th.  It is a fund raising venture run by Ibane Gaels with the co-operation of both Adult clubs, and it is hoped to raise enough money to fund the running costs of Ibane Gaels for the year 2014, which  is presently being financed by both adult clubs. It is similar to the soccer idea where you get a scratch card with a time on it and  if this matches the minute the 1st goal is scored in, the holder of the card wins the monetary prize. In our situation we have divided the game into 30 second segments which means that in a 60 minute match you will have  120 sements ie.( 60 *2), there will also be segments for 1st half injury time, 2nd half injury time  +a segment for no goal scored. In total there will be 123 segments. Scratch cards  will retail at €5  and the initial aim is to sell 1230 cards ie. (123*10)with the holders  of the winning cards receiving €100 each . The launch of this Fundraiser is taking place in Courtmacsherry Hotel on May 9th @9.00 this takes place in conjunction  with the pres entation of medals to the victorious Ibane Gaels minor team of 2013 .

Tomas Mulcahy will be presenting the medals on the night
