Carbery take the Premier 2 Minor Hurling Final

16 September, 2014

Carbery 4-17 Aghabullogue 1-16

Carbery beat Aghabullogue in the Premier 2 Minor Hurling Final played in Pairc Ui Rinn.  Ibane Gaels had 3 players on the starting 15, Conor Madden,  David Kiely and Cathal O Donovan with a 4th Eoin Lawton unlucky not to be playing due to injury. All  played well Conor was solid in goal and came up the field to blast home a penalty and the speed he ran back to goal was something the Ibane players and mentors had never seen before. David gave his usual good display at corner back against a dangerous forward line and Cathal too had a fine game as well as scoring 2 good points .

This win means   2 things

1. The lads are getting used to winning trophys and

2. Next year Carbery will be playing premier 1 Minor hurling and Ibane should have 3 to 4 players on the team, which is a very positive move as these lads will be playing at the highest level of hurling in the county,  which will allow them to be much more competitive in the higher adult  hurling grades with their respective clubs. This has been the idea behind Ibane Gaels from the start.
