Draft Plan for J2 Hurlers Championship + Who's this.'

20 March, 2015

Our Junior two team, almost broke the Internet last season during their explosive, (though short), championship run, so plans are a foot to push the boat out this year in the pre-match entertainment stakes.

With this in mind, I forced myself to attend the Crusaders v Lions game looking for ideas which we might adapt.

The pre-match music is supplied by a band performing on the "Crusaders Castle". I'm a bit worried that the scoreboard might not tale the weight. Maybe we could get a couple of 4 X 2's Tim ?

This guy shoots in and out of the pitch  on his electric scooter to take pictures during a break in play. Maybe we could get some ould fella a bike to do the job. There is actually a story about a  Club Legend cycling around the pitch during a Championship game fadó fadó. Ask one of the old timers.

Believe it or not, each Crusader's home game starts with "The Crusader", charging around the edge of the pitch on horse back.

This is the "Crusader",

This is the rest of the Horse troup. Now we might be short on horses, not sure how many are in Ballinamona and all the Donkeys will actually be playing in the game.

After the horses come "The Maidens"

They come out and kind of dance and wave their swords about.

Whatever about getting enough horses, could we get enough Maidens ?

This was the half time entertainment.

People dressed in giant bubbles came onto the pitch and bate the daylights out of each other. Maybe we should forget about this. it would look bad if some of the team looked "bigger" than the bubbles.

So can we organise something like this ? I suppose the first thing would be to find out who their manager will be this year. Last year it changed from game to game and on one epic occasion it changed at half time.

A finally one for the ladies. I'm sure you all recognise the legendary Dan Carter the New Zealand Rugby God. I actually passed him in the street in Christchurch and all he wanted to know was if Kevin McCArthy was still playing.

The pin up boy of New Zealand rugby, Dan Carter.

I was sent these pictures during the week. It seems somebody is putting in some strengthening work off their own bat.

We know that Richard Murphy is stretching the boundaries in the fitness stakes this year... But which Barryroe player is this, sporting the Club colours on a fine windy day in Broadstrand yesterday.

I don't know, I was 12,000 miles away when it was taken.

BTW, during the last couple of days, this website has been edited in Christchurch, Singapore and London, so bate that.
