Wedding/Clothes Collection/Under-Age training/Lusitania sinks again.

28 March, 2015

Congratulations.

Congratulations to John Leary, (son of Dan and Mary), who got married yesterday. The Butlerstown man went all the way to Tipperary for a wife. That's all good and fine until Munster hurling Final time.  (That's if Tipp make it).

Keep that flag flying John.

Camogie Club Clothes Collection.

The Camogie Club Clothes Collection got under way this morning and it felt like election time visiting the Polling stations.

First stop was Grange, where Eimear and Margaret had help from Ashling, Cliona and Gemma.

Sitting pretty, Gemma,Ashling and behind Cliona.

Also please note, that if you have some bags of clothes, but can not make the drop-off points today, you can drop them off at the Grange Tavern up to Monday night.

Alongside  the collection, there is also a raffle being run...,

Oh the calories

Meanewhile down in Courtmac...

There is a fundraiser tonight for Angela O'Donovan in the Community Centre and there are still a couple of tickets left for a great cause.

This meant however, that the hall could not be used for the collection. No problem to Teresa, she arrived with a horse box and when I arrived, it was filling up nicely.

Grace and Teresa man the horsebox at the Community centre in Courtmac.

While all of this was happening, training continued at the pitch. There was another group training in the school, but we can't be everywhere.

Timmy Murphy was putting the Under 13's through their paces.

Alone he stands.

A goal all the way.

The Under 8's were in the caged off astro turf section, with the coaches keeping a close eye on matters.

Paul looks on as they pile into a ruck and one lad loses interest.

I hadn't seen these before, a sort of sliotar on the end of a stick and used to help the very young players hit the ball.

Are they listening Norman ??

STOP PRESS, THE LUSITANIA SINKS,(AGAIN).

The high winds overnight, caused the replica of the Lusitania, which stood near the Courtmac Community Centre, to capsize, but help was at hand as the RNLI came to the rescue.

Lifeboatman Sean O'Farrell works to repair the stricken vessel, while his two helpers look on.

That's all for now, I think I will go and lie down.
