Lifeboat called out tonight

Update at 8.30 on Fri 10th April

 The Courtmacsherry RNLI All Weather Lifeboat was called out at 5.40pm this evening to go to the aid of a 60 ft Fishing Boat that got into difficulties two miles off the Seven Heads Coastline in West Cork. The Lifeboat with a crew of 7 were away immediately and located the Casualty at 6.10 pm as it drifted towards to coastline. The fishing boat with a crew of 5 was then taken in tow and after a two hour tow, has now arrived back to Courtmacsherry Pier. Conditions at sea this evening were windy with a swell of one and a half meters. Coxswain this evening was Sean O Farrell with Voluntary crew of Pat Lawton, Tadgh McCarthy, Dave Philips, Dean Hennessey and father and son team of Micheal & Ciaran Hurley.
