Conor Lehane at CĂșl Camp Plus Down memory lane.

12 August, 2015

          KEVIN'S KORNER.

Ar bhoithrin na smaointe.

In simple terms the above means memory lane, and Kevin O'Driscoll, once of Lehina, is a great one for the club history.  Now based in Galway, he has access to some club records and he thought it might be a good idea, to look at matches in times past. Every time we get a photo of a "Former Great", there is a great reaction,  but Former Greats are scarce.  So, exactly 26 years ago, this happened.

Junior A Hurling Championship Quarter Final at Bandon 13th August 1989 – Ref Sean Crean

8 – Johnny O’Regan, 9 – Adrian White

10 – Peter McCarthy, 11 – Batt Whelton, 12 – Liam Murphy

13 – John Michael O’Sullivan, 14 – Dan O’Dwyer, 15 – Arthur Tobin

Scorers John Michael O’Sullivan 1-0, Batt Whelton 0-4, Arthur Tobin 0-2, Johnny O’Regan 0-1.

We hope to get more from Kevin from time to time and I find the above team very interesting with Liam Murphy being a dual player.

Some Cúl Camp pictures with Conor Lehane, more pictures to follow. Thanks to Brendan for the pictures and we would like to thank, Dan Maloney, Barryroe Co-op and Scally's Supervalue who sponsored the Barbeque on the last day of the Camp.

Just a note on pictures on the website, the originals are usually better, as we have to compress them a bit, as the internet is a bit slow in parts of the Parish. If anybody ever needs an original to print off, just drop me an e-mail, it's a free service, but don't leave it too long after it appears on the site, as three computers are used doing the site and I get confused.

It takes three to handle this bunch as the Rockies Timmy joins in.

Another hurley to be signed.

Just one more.
