Report for U12 Gala Day vs Grenagh Saturday 21st September @ 2pm in Ballincollig

Result:    Barryroe      3-3  Grenagh   1-4


It was a fabulous day for the U12 Gala, the sun was splitting the stones.  Go game rules applied and matches were 12 minutes x 4.

Every one of the girls played extremely well, it was a great display of camogie.

In the first quarter, Grenagh chalked down the first score, a point but Barryroe responded with a great goal by Therese McCarthy.  Chloe Collins also made a great save and Jessica McCarthy made a great block in this quarter.

In the second quarter, Andrea Tobin opened the scoring with a very accurate point.  Aideen O’Riordan then managed to hit in a very high goal from the half back line.  Chloe Collins scored a super point from mid field.  Andrea then scored another great point with the help of Roisin Dullea.  Great effort from Sarah O’Regan in this quarter.

In the third quarter, all the scores a goal and three points came from Grenagh but Eva Scallan-Dowd made one great save as Keeper. Great effort from Katie McCarthy and Maeve Whelton in this quarter.

In the final quarter, Chloe Collins rocketed in a super goal which was created by Andrea in mid field.  Great work by Naomi Murphy in the back line and Grace Tobin in mid field.

There were trophies awarded to a player in each team who demonstrated at least 2 or 3 skills on the day.  Roisin Dullea was awarded this prize.  All the girls received lovely tee-shirts. 

The event was well organized by Cork Camogie Board and a great day was had by all.
