Any time you beat any Newcestown team, you know you have done well and so it was for our Under 18 Camogie team on Thursday last. Marie Dineen had two early points for us, but Newcestown hit back with a goal and a point to forge ahead. Caroline McCarthy then opened her account with a point from play and then converted a 45, but another Newcestown point saw them lead by 1-02 to 0-04.

Great play by our forwards set up Marie Dineen for a goal chance and the Butlerstown girl duly rattled the net. Emma Deasy added a fine point before Newcestown came back with a good goal to level matters again at 2-02 to 1-05, but a Caroline Mccarthy point took us to the break. leading by a soliary point.

An early goal from another Butlerstown girl, Hannah Whelton, set us on the path to victory and further points from, Marie Dineen, Clair Tyndall, Rachel Sheehy and  Caroline Mc Carthy (0-3), saw us pulling away at the end despite Newcestown adding 1-01 in the second half.

All in all a great display and the backroom staff must be happy.
