Ibane were beaten in the final of the Rebel Og West Minor B Football final by Western Gaels played in Dunmanway.This was a heartbreaking defeat for the lads as they led by a goal entering injury time but a late goal and point gave the Kilmichael/Iveleary combination the victory Ibane were well on top in the 1st half and thanks to a Mark Crowley goal went in at half time up 1-09 to 0-07. Western Gaels started the 2nd half in determined fashion and within 10 minutes the sides were level 1-09 each then another Mark Crowley goal gave Ibane a 3 point lead which they soon increased to 5 back came Western Gaels to make it a 1 goal game which was how it stayed until the drama in injury time .The lads were naturally very upset to lose but the season isn't over for them as the County Hurling Final against Kanturk is on next week and the perfect answer to tonights result would be to go out and win the title.
