By my reckoning, only four of the Senior"B" team that won the championship, two years ago, started this game. One of the four started out of position, (hope you have recovered Eimear), so to expect too much from this very young team would not be very fair, as we find ourselves in the higher grade with a raw team.
This was the first Senior game for most of these girls and they found the going tough.
In fairness, they never gave in and fought to the end.
Síle Burns covered every inch of the pitch, while stand in goalie Caroline McCarthy made a number of impressive saves.
Our scores came from Hannah Whelton and Deborah O'Leary a goal a piece, while Eimear White and Síle Burns both scored two points each.
