Ibane Gaels 2-08 Clann na Gael 0-07

Ibane are through to the semi-final of the Rebel Og  West Minor B football championship after defeating Clann na Gael in Castletownkenneigh . Ibane played with the aid of both breeze and sun in the 1st half and were the first to settle with points from Sean Holland and Mark Crowley. This lead was further increased when Mark finished off a move with a great goal. Ibane were in control in the 1st half with their defence well on top but were not putting the scores on the board to reflect their dominance and it wasn't until the stroke of half time that  a powerful shot from  full back Daniel Hurley found the net gave Ibane the lead their play merited, this left the half time score 2-06 to 0-02 in favour of Ibane Clann na Gael started the 2nd half in flying fashion and within 5 minutes had scored 4 points and it was game on. Ibane settled down to the task and restricted Clann na Gael to only 1 further point in the game however Ibane continued to miss chances and were never out of sight until 2 late points gave them the win on a score of 2-08 to 0-07. Ibane will be very happy with their defensive display but will know that scoring only 2 points in a half wont win you much, so plenty to work on before they play Bandon in semi-final.
