Bandon NOTE TIME CHANGE Ref : Ken Healy (Ballymartle), 15:30PM

John O'Donovan opened the scoring for Barryroe  in the second minute, Éire Óg levelled within a minute and were never headed after that. Between the 4th and 18th minute, Éire Óg added 1-5 to Barryroe's two points. Kieran Griffin swapped points with the Mid Cork side and on 24 minutes a Mike Brien goal brought us back into the game at 1-7 to 1-4. Éire Óg added two points, to be cancelled out by Tadgh Harrington and Mike Brien, however just before the break, Billy Donovan brought off a tremendous save, but Éire Óg were first to react to bury the rebound.

Down 1-06 to 2-09 and now facing the wind, we feared the worst. Éiro Óg were the bigger, stronger team and bossed the breaking ball, but Barryroe never gave up. The Mid Cork side had an early point, but when Denis Harrington drove at their defence, the ball was scooped off the line, only for Dave O'Sullivan to batt the sliotar to the net. Éire Óg added a point, before Clive Cahalane struck for another goal.

Ten minutes gone in the second half and the score was now 3-06 to 2-11. Eire Óg however added three points to a Kieran Griffin one and a David O'Sullivan point was answered by three more from the Red and Yellows to leave the score at 3-09 to 2-17.  Two John O'Donovan frees brought in back to a three point game, but Éire Óg had the next four points to take the score to 3-11 to 2-21.

Tadgh Harrinton buried a late free to leave the final score at 4-11 to 2-21.

A brave effort by Barryroe and they had some joy in the second half, but as Cork found out last week, strength and power are still vital ingredients in hurling and Éire Óg had that power.

Man of the match Cork Footballer Daniel Goulding.

Hands Up.

John lands a free.

Kieran wins a great ball.

Mike climbs high.

An Éire Óg penalty goes over the bar.
