Castle Road Mahon. (THIS IS THE FINAL), 17:00PM

The scoreline says it all about this one sided final. Ballygarvan have won promotion to the senior "A" grade, while we, if we are honest  about it, would struggle to win the Senior "B" grade. We have been losing players for a while now and I reckon a couple more are due to hang up their boots shortly.

These players owe the club nothing, having given years of great service, but if the County Board insist on Barryroe staying at Senior "A" level, I fear for the future.

Ballygarvan played with a pace and a power, that Barryroe could not match. We hung in there untill half time, with a Claire Sexton goal and a couple of points from Síle Burns giving us a  half time score of 1-02 to Ballygarvan's 1-07. Things could have been worse but for a couple of fine saves from keeper Maebhdh Sexton, while Carmel Griffin was another to impress in the opening stages.

In the second half the wheels fell off the wagon, as Ballygarvan poured through a gallant but tiring Barryroe team.  Maebhdh pulled off a couple of good saves and a late Síle Burns goal helped the look of the score board, but it was not to be.

On the bright sid, it stayed dry.

A moment's silence before the game, in memory of Paula O'Leary.

Unusual picture as Carmel and Jennifer chase down the opposition.

Line ball.

The shadows lengthen .

Síle knocks over a point.
