Barryroe opened their summer cup campaign with a victory away to Sliabh Rua on Sunday last. We fielded a young team that turned in a great performance. Barryroe held the advantage at half time having played with a strong wind. The forwards linked up well with some excellent passages of play that lead to great scores. They scored 2.9 in the opening half to Sliabh Rua’s single point. The home team dominated the second half as they made the most of the elements but great credit must go to the relentless defending by the backs as they worked tirelessly to maintain our lead. Overall it was an immense team performance as Barryroe won out on the final score of 2-12 to 2-6. We play our next game in this competition at home to Kilbrittain on this Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
