Ballinascarthy, 19:30PM

Ibane Gaels 2-15                       Kilbrittain 1-07

Ibane had a good win over   a youthful Kilbrittain team in the U21B Hurling Championship. Kilbrittain had the advantage of the wind in a beautifully prepared Ballinascarthy pitch and had the opening 2 scores before Ted Kearney got  Ibanes 1st score. Points from Jack Murphy and Finbarr Butler put Ibane in front and they were  ahead 0-07 to 0-06 when the crucial score of the 1st half arrived via  a Daniel O Driscoll goal this allowed Ibane to lead  at half time 1-09 to 0-07. Ibane were well on top in the 2nd half but were wayward in their shooting and missed a few chances to put the game beyond Kilbrittain, still by the 40th minute they led by 1-11 to 0-07 when Kilbrittain got a soft goal to put them back in the game at 1-11 to 1-07.  However from there  to the end Ibane seized control and points from Mark Crowley and a great goal from Jack Murphy gave them the win by 2-15 to 1-07. It puts Ibane in the semi-final where they know they will have to improve considerably to have  a hope of beating the winners of Clon/Dohenys.  Team Conor Madden David Kiely John Whelton Daniel Hurley Cathal O Donovan Rob Nolan Joe Sheehan Patrick Moloney Eoin Lawton Finbarr Butler 0-05 Oisin Dowling Mark Crowley 0-03 Jack Murphy 1-04 Daniel O Driscoll 1-00 Ted Kearney 0-02 subs Jack Cahalane 0-01 Killian McSweeney Niall Dullea Conor O Regan.
